Second Report- 11 APRIL 2014

Upon the approval of both of the interviewee to be interviewed by our group, we had all embarked on a journey to Jalan Kebun Nenas, Shah Alam and Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur on the 29^th march 2014. As agreed by our team member, we promised to meet and gathered at Shell, Seksyen 7 at 9.30 am before departure.

 We had decided to first interview En. Muhammad Ramzan the owner of Pu3 Colours Studio, and his partner Siti Soleha, which is also his wife at their house. We received a warm welcome given by both of them after arriving safely there by car at 10.30 am. The interview started at 11 am and proceeds in almost 2 hours time, and gladly they’re being so positive and outgoing during the whole session. We managed to take a group photo together with the interviewees as a keepsake.

On the afternoon, our group member had to separate for a while due to transportation problem. We changed our mode of transportation to public transport to go to Pantai Dalam, departing on 3.00 pm and arrived at 5.00 pm. The interview session with Pn. Che Norlia, the owner of Pisang Goreng stall is held at her house, and the interview is started at 5.30 pm  running smoothly until 6.30 pm. The input received on Pn Che Norlia’s business is indeed beneficial to us.

After the interview session ended, we returned home at dawn shortly after bidding goodbye. As a token of appreciation and a symbol of formality, we prepare souvenirs to both of the entrepreneur for their willingness and kindness during the interview held.

First Report- 20 MARCH 2014

First class :

            On the 6 March 2014, our first class for subject Entrepreneurship, we are given an assignment to choose the successful entrepreneur and to find out their life story by interviewing them. This assignment was given by our lecturer Professor Madya Puan Fauziah Pawan as our task to fulfill the Entrepreneur course that represents 20% in the course outline. Besides that, we need to record all the conversation between us and the entrepreneur during a meeting as it can be used as prove of our work progression. In the interview session, we need to know and find out about the challenges, experience and also what thing that support them to start the business.

We were asked by our lecturer, Professor Madya Puan Fauziah Pawan to form a group consisting of 6 to 7 members, and each group are required to submit their group member’s name and their respective position by the second week of class. At first, we had difficulties in forming a group as the number of members was unmatched. To be fair, we discuss together before making a final decision in order to satisfy the remaining of other group members.

            Latter of the group formation, we decided to choose Nor Anis Azura Binti Norzam as the group leader, and Ainur Ameera Binti Mohd Jais as the communicative representative. The main channel of communication between group members is mainly through text messaging and group Wechat application. The details of the group member’ name and positions are then sent to the lecturer through a Gmail account as per required.

Through the interview that we will conduct we will collect the data and later on all the information will be update through a Gmail account that we already created. All the work progression will be send to Professor Madya Puan Fauziah Pawan and apart from that she can evaluate our work progression. This seem to be easy, but indeed we needs a full of cooperation from all of the group members to complete this project. We are doing at our best to impress and give successful work. Hope everything that we already plan will run smoothly according to the time given. Insya-Allah.

The objectives :

            The objectives of this project is to ensure every student whose taking this course will understand the concept of entrepreneurship and this will gain by interview the ordinary entrepreneur in order to have a better clear of the concept.

           

            Other than that, the intention of this course to give a chance to the student to exposure and discovery how the successful entrepreneur can give them inspired in terms of how they start the business, how the management in risk taking, how the overcome challenges and barriers in their business and so on.

            In addition, this project will disclosure about the approaches to new venture creation and how to look on the opportunity and detect the viable of the entrepreneurial opportunity which is helps student in the entrepreneurship other than give them  an idea about it.

            In very our first meeting, after selected a group leader and communication representative , we decided to build a group organization and divided into specific task division in order to make the work project working smooth and meets our objectives

We have an option to do an interview of an entrepreneur, Puan Che Norlia Binti Abdullah that make a business “pisang goreng” and Encik Muhd Ramzan Bin Mat Daris, a wedding photographer. Both of them have a contra field of business. However, we are currently still waiting for him confirmation whether he would be agree or not to be interview as one of our selected entrepreneur.

            Their business location is located in different areas which is one of them located in Kuala Lumpur and the other one located in Shah Alam. Puan Che Norlia business’s located next to her house at D-14-07 PPR Kerinchi Lembah Pantai, Jalan Pantai Permai, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, while Encik Muhd Ramzan business’s located in Shah Alam. To run our task smoothly, we all decided to conduct both interview on Saturday, 22^nd March 2014.

The project for subject Entrepreneurial (ENT 530) allow us to interview an entrepreneur and asking about their experiences and challenges in their business. We had decided to choose to conduct the interview with Puan Che Norlia Binti Abdullah for our class project . Her business already registered under Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM).

Before this, there were many students from other college had conduct the interview with Puan Che Norlia Binti Abdullah as an entrepreneur. So, it would be no problem to deal with her for an interview session. On Saturday, 22^nd March 2014 we will conduct the interview to get more information and be clear about her experiences in business at Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur.

On the top of that, we are still waiting for Encik Muhd Ramzan’s respond. This is because we are very interested to know both field at the same time he is our back up plan as if Puan Che Norlia may be refuse to give cooperation.

      Being an entrepreneur is not easy as we expected due to the market changes nowadays. An entrepreneur must be able to generate new idea in order to penetrate the product to the global market and also must be able to cope with any challenges that may arise later like economic downtown. Therefore, all of us agree to take Puan Che Norlia binti Abdullah as our role model in this project instead of Encik Muhd Ramzan. It is all begin when she faced with the financial crisis in which forced her to open up a business due to cost of living is increasing rapidly.

            Apart from that situation she decided to be an entrepreneur and it becomes a starting point for her to success in business world. She started the business by selling “pisang goreng” across the road. We would like to highlight that she is very passion  towards her job and never give up even though some people around her may criticized what she have been doing but she still insist to proceed with her job because she know that she needs money to support her family. Apart from that crucial situation she becomes very optimistic and persistent in order to survive in this business world.

            The next report will be disclosure who is Puan Che Norlia Abdullah and how she started his journey as Entrepreneur and the willingness response of Encik Muhd Ramzan to be interview for this project.
